Good and Bad Backlinking Techniques

On-page SEO are techniques you can use to improve your chances of having your site ranked at or near the top of searches. Examples include using the best keywords, saturating your text with the optimal number of these keywords, and placing those keywords in the locations search engines like best.

Other examples of effective on-page SEO include:

• Including your keyword is in the page’s title

• Making sure your site has great meta tags, which are the description tags that appear in search engine result pages. Be sure to use to mark the beginning and end of your meta tags. Plus, make sure they are limited to 160 characters in length, including spaces.

• Including your keywords in your header tags (also known as H1 tags). These are the headlines that at the top of your article and within your web content.

• Including your keywords in ALT image text. These are the descriptions added to an image that are displayed when a user places the mouse cursor over the image.

• Making sure your content includes internal links. These are links that connect to your other blogs or other parts of your website.

Off-Page SEO

Off-page SEO is just as important as on-Page SEO. One of the best off-page SEO techniques is backlinking, or link building. The more links your site includes to other sites – especially sites search engines considered “authoritative” – the higher your site will be ranked by search engines.

The biggest benefit of backlinks is that they cause search engines to give your site higher rankings on search pages. If your site is in the Number One spot on the first page of a search for your niche, you are practically guaranteed to be clicked on by thousands, if not millions, of people every day. And if only a tiny percentage of those visitors actually buy something on your site, you can make a lot of money.

But if you end up anywhere except the top half of the first Search Engine Results Page (SERP) for your product niche, you aren’t going to make very many sales. At that point, it’s time to improve your SEO by creating more backlinks.

Good Backlinks vs Bad Backlinks

The best backlinks link to authoritative sites. These are sites that most people would visit if they were looking for specific information. Examples include Wikipedia, eHow.com, Wikimedia Commons, and others.

For example, assume your website offers automobiles for sale and you have included two backlinks on your web page: One links to Motor Trend magazine’s website, which says your site is a great place to buy cars. The second is to a food blog where there is a recipe you liked.
In this case, the first backlink would be substantially increase the value of your web page in the eyes of the search engines. The second wouldn’t help it very much, although if it had the proper keywords it might help your rankings a little bit.

Types of Backlinks

There also are three types of backlinks, each of which has different value by search engines:

• One-Way Links – These are links from one or more pages of another website to yours, without your linking back to that site.

• Reciprocal Links – These links connect to another site, and the other site links back to your page. Another term for this is link swapping.

• Three-Way Links – This is when you link to a website, but instead of linking directly back to my site, the person running that site links back to your site from another site.

The type of links search engines are one-way links because there is no reciprocity. Search engines also like three-way links because they look the same as one-way links.
Most links will add value to your web page for search engines, but stay away from getting backlinks from unsavory sources, such as gambling or pornographic sites. These will harm your site’s reputation among the big search engines.

3 Steps to Creating High-Converting Headlines

Headlines are the single most important part of any marketing document, be it an email, a sales letter, squeeze page or paid advertisement. That’s because the headline is your first and only opportunity to capture the attention of the prospective customer.

If you headline fails to make an instant, immediate impression upon your reader, they will stop reading further and probably are lost to you forever.

The best headlines – those that grasp your page visitor by the lapels, shake them up and refuse to let go – share three common traits. If you ensure that your headlines always includes these three qualities, you can attract a greater number of prospects to spend more time with your copy and enhance your chances of converting them into a long-term customer, which is the ultimate objective of any marketing document.

Clarity Is King

The first and most important quality of any great headline is that it can be immediately understood by anybody who is reading it. The more clarity a headline has, the more appealing it will be to page visitors.

If your headline is in any way ambiguous, confusing, or doesn’t provide a clear and concise message that can be grasped instantly, it is going to turn readers away in droves. Clear, easy to understand headlines should be as specific as possible.

Remember, the people who are landing on your pages or seeing your ads are looking for solutions and answers. The last thing they want to do is to spend more time trying to figure out what is meant by an ambiguous or uncertain headline. Be as clear as you can possibly be.

Headlines Have Two Parts

The most effective headlines have two parts: The headline itself and the sub-headline, also known as the “sub-head”. One way to think of it is like this: The headline is the bait that gets the prospect in the door and the sub-head is what you use to hook them in so they will keep reading.

A clear and concise headline is critical, but by itself it usually is not enough to fully engage the reader. It needs help – in the form of a great, informative sub-head that boosts the clarity the reader gets from the headline.

The sub-head acts to reaffirm the reason why your reader has landed on your page or looked at your ad in the first place. It should set the stage for the story your content is about to tell them.

The Best Headlines Include Numbers

There is a whole body of research that proves that people using the Internet are astronomically more likely to click through on a headline that includes a number than one that simply includes words. This has something to do with the way our minds are wired.

Numbers express certainty. They subconsciously tell the reader that there message expressed in the headline is based on substance and fact, so people seeking solutions or answers online are naturally more attracted to headlines that include numbers than they are to just words.

The numbers you put in your headlines can include all kinds of figures, including percentages, the amount of things on lists, time measurements, and so on:

“3-Day Free Trial for All New Subscribers”
“Top 5 Ways to Shed Weight Fast”
“Increase Sales by 30% in 30 Days Using This One Weird Trick”

Generally, the number will be in the main headline rather than the sub-head. But the information in the sub-head should support whatever number you include in the headline.
These three qualities are so widely used that headlines that don’t include them are often perceived as jarring or off-putting – and usually fail to convert. Successful marketers understand what works and what doesn’t, so they gravitate toward the tried and true in order to maximize their results.

If you keep your headlines clear and to the point, include sub-headlines that support the primary point of the main headline, and include numbers to give your headline substance and authority, you can exponentially increase your conversion rates regardless of what type of marketing document you are using.

Follow This Email Marketing Etiquette to Get Your Delivered and Read

Email marketing can be a very effective way of bringing new customers into your sales funnel. But due to the widespread use of viruses and malware, most people are cautious about opening an email that comes from a source they don’t recognize, that is strangely written, or appears to have come from a non-English speaker.

You can reassure your prospective customers that the emails you send are safe and reliable by following a few simple email marketing etiquette rules:

1. Don’t Sensationalize the Headline

The default setting for Yahoo, AOL, Gmail, and the other popular email providers is to show who the sender is and the headline. In some instances, the first few words of the email text itself will appear on the user’s email queue.

That makes the headline the first important element of your email. If it is overly exaggerated, makes extraordinary claims, or is otherwise sensational, there’s a better chance that the email will either be sent directly to the “Spam” folder or deleted by the user without being read.

The objective is to get the reader to open the email, so your headline has to give them a reason to do so. You want to capture their imagination and engage their interest, but not go over the top. Avoid using exclamation points – especially multiple exclamation points – as well as ALL CAPS and crazy colors because this will most likely tag your email as spam.

2. Use the Person’s Name, If Known

The greeting is the first thing the reader will see when they open your email. If you know the user’s name (because you either know them personally, they are already on your list, or their name was included on an email list you have purchased) use your autoresponder to insert their first name in the greeting, such as “Dear Paul” or “Dear Sandra.”

Email tends to be less formal than traditional letter-writing, so in most cases using the person’s first name is perfectly acceptable. Using the person’s last name can often seem off-putting, such as “Dear Mr. Stewart” or “Dear Ms. Simpson.” Exceptions would include formal titles such as “Doctor,” “Professor,” or a military title.

3. Get to the Point

Because emails are less formalized than traditional letter-writing, and because people get so many emails every day, the person receiving your email probably isn’t going to give it much attention. That’s why it is critically important that you get to the point of your email right away, starting with the very first sentence.

In email writing, you have to give the reader a reason to keep reading. Don’t waste time by beating around the bush or trying to build up to your point slowly. You have only a few moments to maintain the reader’s attention, so make the most of it.

4. Signing Off

Another difference between traditional letter writing and emails is the sign-off. You don’t have to include a formal “Sincerely” or “Gratefully yours.”

Simply ending with your name is perfectly acceptable. Or, if you prefer, you can use an informal phrase such as “Chat with you soon” or “Cheers.”

Following these general email etiquette protocols will increase the chances that the person receiving your email will open it and read it. Make sure the content of your email pushes the person to the action that you want them to perform, such as clicking on a link included in the body of your email.

The Fastest Path To 100k+ / Year

 

So typically when someone decides they want to make a few extra bucks online, they go to Google, search for something like ‘how to make money online,’ and are introduced to affiliate marketing.

This is a good starting point, because it’s simple. As an affiliate, you’re not having to:

1.) Create products from scratch yourself (this is an entire skill itself, and can take years to master)

2.) Build websites and sales funnels

With affiliate marketing, all you’ve got to do is send traffic.

In other words, place ads which promote someone’s website, which offers a product for sale.

If someone clicks your affiliate link and buys the product, you get paid your commissions.

You should pick one ad source and focus on it. It could be Facebook, banner ads, Snapchat / Instagram ads, etc.

But there’s a big problem with traditional affiliate marketing!

And that’s margins.

Typically most of the products pay out small commissions. It might be $10. It might be $50. It might be $100.

But it’s not much.

And if your goal is to get to at least 100k a year with your online business, you’re going to need a lot of sales.

Making $10 on each sale means you need to find 10,000 customers in a year.

10,000!!!

That’s over 800 customers a month, or, approximately a new customer every single hour.

Let me tell you a much faster way to get to that 100k.

Affiliate Marketing Introduced

Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the Internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people had to make use of the telephone and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program was coming along.

So with todays technology, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out the new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track of.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase optins from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate’s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories area  means to attract people into joining your affiliate program. It’s a sure way of promoting the affiliate program!

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There are phone orders and emails to track down. See if there are new clients checking the products out. Jotting down the contact information that might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because the marketer knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to stay visible and accessible too.

The affiliate marketer remembers that there are questions to answer from visitors. This has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer more than an unanswered email.

To prove that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries have to be paid more attention. Nobody wants to be ignored and customers are not always the most patient of people. Quick answers that should appear professional yet friendly too.

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is logs on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under the same program. This is where they can discuss how to best promote their products.

There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advice is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities lie ahead.

The newsletters and E-zines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The marketer has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications.

This is the time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the marketer in promotions and sales increases. Nothing like mentioning them, their sites and the things they have done that made everything work.

Of course, this will be published in the newsletters. Among the more important information that has been written already.

The marketer still has time to write recommendations to those who want credible sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are lots of wannabes.

Two objectives done at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.

Time flies. Missed lunch but satisfied with the tasks done. Bed time….

Okay, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends their marketing day.

An Email From a Interested Party

I don’t really write many Blog posts but I am ready to whenever the urge hits me.

I understand your situation and am ready to help you.

I myself work 16-18 hours a day 45 miles offshore of Angola Africa 7 days a week and do that 9-10 months a year. That’s the beauty of the internet. It’s 24/7. So as far as finding time to do your business it’s just matters of whether you feel you are ready to succeed.
